So, what can we say about the view of the world brought to us\u00a0by an onslaught of digital images which we are confronted with every\u00a0day? As it was in the day and age of the Renaissance, it is an\u00a0enormously political thing. The powers-that-be have well understood\u00a0that, and they have invested massively in the theatre of new\u00a0technologies to stage some illusion of politics through the politics of\u00a0illusion.<\/p>\n

“THEATRE”, the latest SUPERAMAS project, is\u00a0about the representation of a world structured by the politics of\u00a0illusion. In this context, various extended reality techniques, such as\u00a03-D images, avatars and mapping, are used.<\/p>\n

The stage will\u00a0also become a site of improbable encounters. Real persons, fictitious\u00a0characters and avatars will meet. Important decisions will be taken. A\u00a0war might be in the offing. The stage might become a theatre of\u00a0operations.<\/p>\n

What SUPERAMAS is interested in here is the\u00a0interaction between reality and fiction and the way it is at work in\u00a0reports on current politics. The point is to rediscover the reality of\u00a0comedy or drama behind the illusion of the political.<\/p>\n

When the\u00a0private life of public figures is in the focus of the politics of\u00a0illusion, when the Crown Prince’s wedding or the First Lady’s pregnancy\u00a0become societal issues, fiction has long relegated reality to the\u00a0background. But then again, did not the Renaissance painters also give\u00a0their madonnas the traits of the prostitutes who were their models?<\/p>\n

SUPERAMAS\u00a0will play true and false stories, navigate between reality and\u00a0virtuality, always seeking to keep politics and the image of politics\u00a0apart. Or mix it even more. The audience will, however, be given an\u00a0opportunity to see clearly: the toolbox will be opened before their very\u00a0eyes. And we hope that this time, their attention will be directed at\u00a0the frame as much as at the vanishing point.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
