Net als de hoofdpersoon in de film die ze bedenken, zijn ze allemaal schuldig aan moord. Om het verhaal vorm te geven, putten ze uit hun eigen ervaringen, idee\u00ebn en verlangens. Wij, de kijkers, kunnen alleen maar raden of ze fictie gebruiken als middel om hun huidige situatie te bevestigen, te overstijgen of te transformeren. In de loop van de film bespreken ze criminaliteit als een parallelle werkelijkheid, wat de aard van gerechtigheid is, en hoe een samenleving eruit zou zien als die meer gericht zou zijn op genezing dan op vergelding. &#8220;Het rechtssysteem is niet synoniem met gerechtigheid zelf. Het rechtssysteem betekent de toepassing van regels, maar rechtvaardigheid is een menselijk vermogen&#8221;, zegt een van de mannen.
