An alternative history of Pan-Arabism&#8221; <\/i>[werktitel] is voor de kunstenares een gelegenheid om na te gaan in welke mate een performatief werk of beweging de essentie van een essay kunnen weergeven of hoe op deze manier de essayistische textuur en kwaliteiten kunnen behouden blijven en er tegelijkertijd nieuwe vormen tot stand kunnen komen om kennis en archiefmateriaal te verwerken en te verspreiden. Anderzijds vraagt de kunstenares zich af hoe een essay \u2013 wanneer dat wordt opgevat als een poging om iets aan te tonen \u2013 een performatieve insteek kan krijgen. Vanuit haar belangstelling voor het standpunt van de wetenschapper, onderzoekt zij de noties van bewijsvoering en authenticiteit.
