About
Amina Abouelghar is a dancer and choreographer based in between Brussels and Cairo. After graduating from the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center, she produced her first solo piece, Young Dreams which premiered at NEXT Festival in 2023 and was shown in Les Chorégraphiques and Festival de la Cité in Lausanne. She has worked with her Cairo-based dance duo Nafaq in the Festival de Marseille, D-CAF, Indiscipline Festival (WIELS), and Triennale di Milano. Fascinated by rhythms, improvisation and dance history, Abouelghar is currently associated artist at workspacebrussels from 2026 to 2028 where she will develop her new piece Birds Cries with productional support from Hiros.
