About
Stanley Ollivier is a dancer, performer, maker, physical actor & DJ from Paris, France. Coming from a gymnastic background, he decided to change his path from a need for creativity, and went to study dance and musical in the International Dance Academy Of Paris (AID). He left to continue his studies in Contemporary Dance at the CNSMDP in Paris, and in P.A.R.T.S. where he obtained his Bachelor and Master of Arts in Dance.
Stanley Ollivier looks into alternative modes of being, dancing and existing together while questioning notions of normativity and rigidity. His choreographic tools work with dance as a medium for creating shifty spaces of ambivalence and fantasy, swinging between fragments and fullness, deconstruction and construction, optimism and doubt. Some of the leading interests in his work at the moment are discovering new physical narratives and openings for a conscious innocence while diving into practice of the crushing, joyful and persistent body. He works around questions about the place of amusement in contemporary dance, context displacement, identity, humor, care and versatility.
He has collaborated with different residency support, productions and international artists such as: Kamel Ouali, Tatiana Seguin, François Rousseau, Lasseindra Ninja, Iván Pérez & The Heidelberg Dance Theater, Pippin, Disney Channel production, Lila&John, Nina Muñoz, Collective LA 360/Sarah Deppe, Cie Tabea Martin, Brahim Tall, Geert Belpaeme, Soa Ratsifandrihana, Léa Vinette, Calixto Neto, workspacebrussels, CCN Orléans, Tanzhaus Zürich, etc.
He is also a member of the Ballroom Scene, and a DJ under the name of STANLEY. He played in different venues and radios abroad such as Rinse (FR), Kiosk Radio (BE), The Lot Radio (NYC), Drift Radio (CPH), Radio Panini (CPH), DecorAtelier (BE), Atelier 210 (BE), Lafayette Anticipation (FR), KFDA (BE). He is the co-founder of the broadcast show ‘Entwined’ in residency at Kiosk Radio, which aims to promote young artists to expose their work or research in relation to sonic experiences and/or music. After his previous performance works Sorry not Sorry (2019), PARADE (2021), and The Mirror Stand (2022), Stanley is currently developing a new project called Spine Of Desire: Wounds without tears, out of one skin in diamonds and shit (2025).
