We’re looking for a new producer (100%)

Hiros works with artists on the development of their artistic trajectories. This involves both emerging and more established makers with hybrid practices in the performing arts. We work on creations and research, and offer support in career development, fundraising, production, communication, administration and business management, distribution and tour management. The team consists of five people, two of whom are responsible for production.

About the role

The follow-up of artists’ projects is divided between the two production managers. Each has overall responsibility for their respective projects. This follow-up consists of:

PRE-PRODUCTION OF PROJECTS AND RESEARCH PROJECTS:

. Coordinating the search for partners, residencies and presentations
. Compiling and supervising subsidy applications to various public bodies, with final responsibility for the applications
. Drawing up a project budget
. Developing a project schedule
. Between projects, contributing to discussions on the artist’s future career path (together with the artistic coordinator)

PRODUCTION:

. Managing the project budget
. Financial arrangements with staff, suppliers, etc. (in collaboration with the financial manager)
. Practical organisation of the creative process: travel and accommodation, transport, purchasing materials, etc.
. Monitoring the process, acting as a sounding board during the creation phase
. Settlement of subsidies, etc.

POST-PRODUCTION:

. Tour management
. Representing the artist and Hiros at touring performances

Profile

– You have an affinity with the performing arts sector and regularly attend shows.
– You have several years’ experience in production within the (performing) arts.
– You have experience with the Flemish government’s subsidies system and/or drafting texts and budgets.
– You work independently and meticulously.
– You have organisational skills, can multitask and function both independently and as part of a team.
– Irregular hours and weekend work do not put you off.
– You are resourceful, creative, enthusiastic and a team player.
– You enjoy attending Hiros performances and stepping in where necessary.
– You enjoy working with the team to reflect on the organisation’s position within the field.

Hiros offers

Hiros offers a challenging and varied role within a stimulating arts organisation in the heart of Brussels. A permanent full-time contract as a staff member with remuneration in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for the Performing Arts (PC 304) – pay category A, meal vouchers and travel reimbursement.
