Works: Dolores Bouckaert

De breekbaarheid van het goede

Dolores Bouckaert invites relatives, fellow artists, writers and thinkers to expand upon one of the central themes of her work: the uneasy relationship between identity and physical condition of the body.

The catalyst for this research, a radical turnround in her health, provoked questions about the meaning and conditions of our moral actions. The reading together of The Fragility of Goodness by social philosopher Martha Nussbaum, forms a guideline for the conversations, which take place during walks and in Bouckaert’s studio. In collaboration with: Peter Aers, Wouter Hillaert, Maya Wilsens, Bart Capelle, Connie Palmen, Dirk De Wachter, Barbara Raes, e.a. Anyone wishing to join in the reading can email Dolores at

Building on this research, Bouckaert presents the video essay Kwijt as the first part of a trilogy entitled Dolores zoekt Dolores. In this video essay she reflects openly on the answers her research offered, but also on the obstacles she encountered.
