Seasonal changes at Hiros

23.12.2022 – Before going into a week of hibernation, the Hiros team still has some thrilling seasonal changes to share.

Maybe you heard it through the grapevine; in January, Hiros will be welcoming its new artistic coordinator Sabine Cmelniski with great excitement! She will join us gradually in the coming months.

Sabine has been involved in all kinds of body practices since childhood, from tapdancing to ballet and shiatsu. While studying Cheoreography at SNDO (Amsterdam), she created Friends with Benefits, a platform exploring notions of affective labour and friendship in the artistic sectors. Besides co-curating Bâtard Festival with Bouchra Lamsyeh and working as a professor assistant at the Arts and Choreography department of ISAC, Sabine has also collaborated as a dramaturg and performer with many artists. All of this remarkable experience combined makes her a marvellous sparring partner for the artists and team of Hiros.

Besides this new face in the office, there will also be two familiar faces (re-)joining us. Not only will our dearest production manager Nina Wabbes come back from maternity leave, we simply could not say goodbye to her wondrous replacement Martín Zícari. So he’s staying!

In other words: a promising change (and continuation) of guard is coming up for the little cherished castle that is Hiros.
